Joanne Sims
Joanne Sims is the founder of Joanne Sims Wellbeing. She has spent many years working in various sectors of the NHS before training and qualifying as a Mental Health Nurse (RMN) in September 2003.
Joanne practised as an RMN for over 10 years gaining a wealth of knowledge and expertise in her field. Areas worked in covered a wide variety including hospital inpatient environments and community-based nursing caring for young people, adults and older people and their families as well as those with learning disabilities.
In 2014 Joanne founded and for several years chaired Downright Perfect, a charity based in Dorset. The charity's objectives are to support people in the Dorset and surrounding area who have a family member with a diagnosis of Downs Syndrome.
Believing passionately in the holistic and person-centred care approach for every person, Joanne decided to retrain and compile all of her professional and personal experience and knowledge together to help people. She qualified as a counsellor in July 2019 and has transitioned into the councilling arena undertaking further extended training with a special interest in trauma and it's effects on individuals, how this can present and ways to assist individuals with these issues.
Joanne also recognised that people need choice in their wellbeing journey and therefore decided to train as a life coach and qualified in 2020, furthermore expanding the services avaliable to her clients.
Joanne has added to her skill base by becoming an NLP practitioner and has now also undertaken an advanced deep holistic life coaching training to offer her coaching clients the ultimate transformational expereince along with the principles of embodiment work to deepen the changes that clients expereince.
Joanne strongly believes that wellbeing is for all, no matter the persons' situation and is driven to work creatively to help her clients on their journey with them in the driving seat.
